Good, well planned Event Traffic Management can deliver happy customers to your venue and help them to leave, feeling that it is somewhere to which they will want to return. Poor Event Traffic Management can lead to unsatisfactory customer experiences, lack of support from police and council, and licence objections from local businesses and residents.

Select Security Group has a proven track record of ensuring events run smoothly including managing all areas of Event Traffic Management, such as event signage, liaison with Police, council and residents, car park management and site access management. Select Security Group take a fully holistic approach taking into account all potential problems, such as accidents on approach roads or poor ground conditions on-site.

Event Planning

Select Security Group begins working on our events months in advance to ensure that meticulous plans are in place for every eventuality. We work with all key stakeholders including Event Organisers, Police, Local Authorities, Roads Authorities (where appropriate) and persons possibly affected by traffic in the local area.

A comprehensive Traffic Management Plan is produced which will include scale drawings, all required CAD drawings of Traffic Management equipment on roads, and applications for Road Closures etc.

Implementation

Select Security Group’s Chapter 8 trained Traffic Management Engineers will install all equipment for the event, beginning days beforehand to ensure that everything is in place before the event opens. A detailed schedule is produced and followed to ensure that all equipment is placed on live roads at the most suitable time ensuring minimal disruption to the local road networks.

Onsite Traffic Management

For larger events, there is a requirement to ensure that onsite vehicle traffic is properly managed to ensure the safety of both drivers and pedestrians and assist in the security of the site by checking each vehicle. Select Security Group has managed this at many events including agricultural shows, music festivals, concerts, sports events and council events.

Post Event

After the event our Event Traffic Management team will remove all equipment to ensure a quick hand-over to the site owners. Once completed, we provide a detailed report to the Event Organisers which details all aspects of our operations, inclusive of traffic levels, which allows improvements to be made for future events to further enhance customers’ experiences.
