Security Officers

Select Security Group has a proven track record of working with our retail clients to reduce theft and increase footfall at each of their stores, by creating a safe, welcoming environment where retail security is high but tactful and not intrusive.

We recognise the specific skill set that retail security requires, and it is our selection of staff for this role which has helped some clients (including international chains) turn around stores which had been the target of shoplifters.

Our approach to retail security goes beyond providing a highly visible Security Officer in our clean and crisp corporate uniform. Flexibly working to our client’s requirements, we undertake a security audit of the store, including examining key risk areas, for example, internal theft by staff members.

Select Security Group will then provide a tailored Assignment Instruction Manual for each store, which documents hot zones and includes intelligence gathered from agencies such as the Police. This helps Security Officers work efficiently with Store Managers to achieve a bespoke solution that can be adapted to suit the changing criminal methods.

Store Detectives

Not all stores are suitable for Security Officers patrolling. Where this is not the best option for a client, we can maintain retail security by providing highly experienced Store Detectives. It is important that staff selection is scrupulous, in order to ensure patrolling the premises fits in with the type of premises and age group using the store. This allows us to detect crime and make arrests, deterring professional criminals from frequenting the store on a long-term basis.

To ensure that Store Detectives remain invisible we rotate them around our stores, ensuring there is a different face on patrol regularly as this will give a false sense of security to any criminals who have been apprehended by other Store Detectives.
