News - Select Starts Countdown To Christmas

Select Security Group Ltd has begun the countdown to Christmas with Carrickfergus Borough Council.

Select deployed over 20 Event Stewards, Supervisors and Managers in Carrickfergus to manage the annual turning on the Christmas lights in Carrickfergus and fireworks displays beside the castle.

The duties of staff ranged from ensuring the safety of the large crowds through to guarding the fireworks, front of stage pit safety and assisting council officers with the management of a parade to the city centre event where the lights were turned on by the Mayor, Alderman Ms Patricia McKinney and Sainsburys (who sponsored the event) store manager, Richard Heaton.

Stephen Harrison, Operations Manager and Crowd Safety / Head of Security Manager for the event commented: “This was our first event with Carrickfergus Borough Council and we are confident of developing our relationship with them based on our commitment to providing only fully trained and competent event stewards exceeding industry standards.”
