Sports Security
Every sporting event, whether involving football, rugby, athletics, Gaelic sports or other activities, presents unique problems and risks. These depend upon a wide range of factors including the nature of event, spectators, past history of the teams, the importance of the match and the design of the venue.
Select Security Group works closely with Police, Organisers and other agencies to ensure that we fully understand potential problems and develop a clear, risk-based Sports Security plan for the management of the sporting event. This can range from a basic plan to ensure the safety of a small number of spectators and participants, to a major event plan designed to deal with rival crowds of spectators and prevent disorder.
At Select Security Group, we train our staff to the highest level to ensure that they are competent to deal with anything arising during the course of their duties in a thoroughly professional manner. For any Sports Security staff, our minimum level of training includes the obtaining of their NCFE Level 2 Award in Understanding Spectator Safety (previously known as the Level 2 Certificate for Event Stewards).
Following on from this program, our staff involved in Sports Security progress to higher levels of Spectator Safety training including obtaining their Level 2, 3 and 4 NVQs in Spectator Safety.
We can therefore offer organisers of sporting events, a very professional service that will enable them to have confidence in all aspects of the arrangements for the management of the event.
